| 22/02/2010 Biante set to replicate Brabham Australia’s leading Diecast model car manufacturer, Biante Model Cars, have today signed an agreement with Australian motorsport icon Sir Jack Brabham AO OBE.
The agreement will see Biante produce many of the Formula One cars that bore the Brabham name from the 1960’s. The agreement will also cover the two Cooper Climax F1 cars in which Sir Jack won the 1959 and 1960 World Formula One Championship’s.
Biante CEO Chris Roche is delighted to welcome Sir Jack into the Biante Family.
“The model car industry worldwide has largely ignored the F1 era in which Sir Jack was a pioneer, so we are very excited to be able to replicate these World Championship winning Formula One cars,” Chris noted.
Biante Model Cars has in the past focused its attentions solely on the Australian market, however this partnership with Sir Jack Brabham on a worldwide exclusive basis will give Biante a launch pad on the world stage.
“Signing Sir Jack is yet another step in Biante’s plans to give our collectors more than just locally produced road and race cars, with more announcements to come in the future,” Chris added.
The initial production schedule will see production of Sir Jack’s three World Championship cars - the 1959 Cooper T51, 1960 Cooper T53 and the Brabham BT20. All three cars in 1:18th scale will have Certificates of Authenticity signed by Sir Jack himself.
Also in the pipeline are the 1967 Brabham BT24 and the Brabham BT33 from the 1970 Mexico GP – Sir Jack’s last Formula One appearance.
All cars in the Brabham collection will be replicated in 1:18th scale and in 1:43rd scale. All models will be limited editions and all will come with Certificates of Authenticity. Delivery of the first of these models is expected in 12 – 18 months.
Sir Jack Brabham AO OBE Sir John Arthur "Jack" Brabham AO OBE (born 2 April 1926) is a former Australian racing driver who was World Formula One Champion in 1959, 1960 and 1966. He was a founder of the Brabham Racing Team and, with his 1966 title, became the first owner/driver to win a World Championship. He is the oldest surviving Formula One World Champion.
Biante Model Cars From 1992 to today, Biante has evolved into a company that is one of the biggest distributors of quality diecast models available to the collector market. With its roots based in distribution, through to manufacturing our own collection from 1998, Biante has been a pivotal part of the Diecast Collectors market in Australia. Biante are committed to producing diecast model cars with the highest levels of quality, accuracy and innovation. |
