A beautifully made model but not accurate to any race and maybe the F1 Collections largest rabbit hole!?
I think the concept was to make the car Austria, Hill's best finish. The left side of the (Italian version) model is accurate to Austria... however, the right side is France. The nose with the silver tape is also definitely France. The rear wing logos are probably Austria but I think the shape was physically different in Austria with deeper end plates.
So I made it France because that was easiest, but then I thought, I could also make a British GP version.
For Britain, I removed the silver tape on the 'claws' and replaced surrounding logos. I added the 'WoolMark' logos on the numbers. It was to promote British wool production, where better than at a Formula 1 race in the summer!?
Ironically, the one version I could not so easily make was Austria. On the right side of the cockpit is a GoodYear diamond (for France). Which I could cover with the Hill name for Britain. But it is not removable without destroying the yellow around the cockpit (it is all one big decal).

So I think now I can rest easy that this model is now mostly accurate to a race or two.
